TEAM Oregon Advanced Manufacturing has launched Year 2 of its targeted statewide business development program. McMinnville Economic Development Partnership staff leads the team, which consists of 20 economic development organizations, including the Corvallis Benton County Economic Development Office, and utilities from throughout Oregon who have invested $40,000 in the program.
Over the next several months, representatives from nine regions of Oregon will be traveling to the Chicago and Los Angeles areas to participate in strategic industry tradeshows. In addition, the team has over 10 business prospects appointments slated and a number of one-on-one meetings with national site selector firms.
The overall goals are to promote Oregon as a destination for expansion and to pursue supply chain opportunities for local manufacturers. The TEAM will be hosting manufacturers in Oregon booths at FABTECH in Chicago this November and the Medical Device and Manufacturing Expo in Los Angeles next February.
“For a smaller economic development organization like MEDP, our investment in the Advanced Manufacturing team helps us strengthen our community’s commitment to expanding and attracting a stronger manufacturing base, “ stated MEDP Executive Director Jody Christensen. “As a team member, we plug into a targeted, strategic recruitment effort that has a ripple effect. Everything we use to attract new investment into McMinnville supports our efforts to retain and grow our current businesses.”
